montane
My processor delivers 133 x2= 266, but according to the benchmark utility PC Mark, the number is 66 MHx. How can I know? Thanks a lot. ============================ Athlon XP 2000+ ECS Elite K7S5A Samsung 512MB PC 2100 DDR x2 ABIT Siluro GF3 Ti200 Western Digital 40 GHz 7,200 rpm x2 WinXP Pro ============================
sailgreg
Go into your BIOS, under CPU or somthing, it will tell you :)
mAcOdIn Veteran Posted July 12, 2002 Veteran Share Posted July 12, 2002 going into the bios will tell you but that is a bug with 3d mark 2001. I had a k7s5a till this week, thats just what it says, the k7s5a can't even run a fsb that low. Well without modding it.
montane
Thanks, mAcOdIn. Can you explain a little more abut it? Thanks!!
username
you have an Athlon 2000+ which runs at 1.66ghz or 1667mhz and 133mhz FSB and a multiplier of 12.5 133 X 12.5 = 1667mhz
mAcOdIn Veteran Posted July 12, 2002 Veteran Share Posted July 12, 2002 Yeah username's right, you could underclock it by setting the fsb to 100mhz but your running at 266 most likely. Can't remember where in the bios it was in the k7s5a, I think they called it CPU/plag and play or something. 3d mark 2001 just reads the info from the boards pll wrong and displays it as 66 mhz, wich is imposible to run at with a ecs bios
Khujo
search google for WCPUID and this little program will tell you your exact FSB speed without having to reboot. (along with a lot of other good info)

mAcOdIn Veteran Posted July 12, 2002 Veteran Share Posted July 12, 2002 Nah it doesn't report it correctly, only was is to look in the bios for that board. The way 3D Mark, and WCPUID get the fsn is the same, and the problem is the way the k7s5a's PLL reports it.
montane
According to WCPUID: Internal clock = 1659.60 System clock = 132.77 System bus = 265.54 Multiplier = 12.5 I sent an e-mail today to the motherboard manufacturer to verify the right parameters. Thanks a LOT for your help, friends. Valuable input. ============================ Athlon XP 2000+ ECS Elite K7S5A Samsung 512MB PC 2100 DDR x2 ABIT Siluro GF3 Ti200 Western Digital 40 GHz 7,200 rpm x2 WinXP Pro ============================
