~D~
Is it my ASUS Radeon 9550 video card or is mce on crack? When i start mce it just sits there doing nothing at all but if I move the window it shows the movements I made with the remotecontrol.
LovingU
as far as i know, lots of persons using ati cards experience problems using mce, some just display a black box when start mce in a window.

tomwarren Veteran Posted September 16, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 16, 2005 Most people are getting it, even with Nvidia cards. Looks like a DWM problem rather than anything else.

Ghostdraconi
When I ran it my monitor started rapidly switching on and off, I eventually had to reboot my machine to get rid of it.

AQUaDeX
Media Center doesn't work with LDDM drivers yet, revert to a XP-compatible graphics driver and it should work. And ~D~, there's nothing wrong with Media Center in your screenshot, it doens't have any artworks yet but it works just fine, you just have to get used to the new main menu structure. Thanks, that did work but too bad the glass effect doesn't work with the standard drivers.
NemesisNG
I had the problem with the monitor flickerng on and off loading the Media Centre. In the end I tried using the stock drivers for my X850XT PE included, not the LDDM ones, and that lets Media Centre load and work fine. Just a shame it will not recognise my TV-card, even tho the xp drivers install fine it will not detect it when I load media centre. Oh well, it'll happen eventually. spclffred
ok ppl mce isnt supported on lddm drivers, u can have either or, which revert to xp video drivers and run mce, or run lddm drivers for all the cool animations and glass effect :D , LDDM drivers anrt performance drivers they strictly for the animations and glass. Its not a video card problem. :p
nightRider
soo.... does that mean that the MCE problems are totally not related to video card problems? if the XP MCE can run on a specific video card then the Vista MCE can run on it too? Commodore Max
The problem is caused by a conflict between DWM and MCE. I have the exact same problem here, with an Nvidia Card.
