Olly-
Again the USA gov has more than enough money. It they where not picking fights on the Arab nations they would have had enough solders to control the unacceptable violence much faster. It's only 3rd world countries that need financial, and other aid. The richest country should have been able to respond faster than they did :(

Bush has turned down their help so he wouldnt feel like he "owes" them anything. I know people that have went down there to help and FEMA was no where to be found. They were only around when the president was there. Remember hearing in the news where the government was going to give everyone displaced debit cards with 2 grand on them (which was insane in itself) for food and clothes? Two days later, they said on the news that people had to register on the internet in order to get the cards. Umm ... WTF .. yea, because everyone is carrying around laptops w/ wireless nics. I'm not going to make this a race thing, but this entire situation is F'ed up. Those people are never returning to NO. It will soon be the land of high priced condo's with a super levy!

Jon 5
Well first off I haven't but I am also a high school student still living with my parents. Second to all you people saying that the US government has plenty of money, uh have you seen our national debt? And that is not just some unrealistic figure that is never going to have to be paid. My generation is going to end up paying for it. :(
Deathray
For the American people, I'm not sure how it works in the U.S., but don't taxes already act like donations?
Doli
I dont know why you think of "the government has enough Money" when it comes to Katrina victims, thats just stupid to think like that or selfish. I understand that some people cant or dont want to donate but i dont see where "the government has enough Money" comes into play

joshpo
Heres the difference: Money you donate to Red Cross etc goes directly to helping people. A lot of the money appropriated by the government goes to no-bid reconstruction projects for Halliburton, Bechtel, B&R, etc.
