cropcircles
Its like the sound drivers. They will either work for you or not. Those of us running Nvidia driver 6-series and up shouldn't have any problems as they are automatically recognized. Remember to right click>properties>compatability mode and set to XP and that "might" help.
lay_forat
CTRL + SHIFT + F9? What's that? I only know CTRL + SHIFT + F5, but that is something different and have nothing to do with this. But I treid, nothing happen. 586539137 CTRL + SHIFT + F9 its for switching between the aero glass and aero standars theme it works great if u feel glass is making your system slow u can just press these keys to turn off all the fancy features and ofcourse turn back on cuz vista witout glass looks ugly
ev0|
control shift f9 also works if you glass experience catches a bug and starts slowing down (happens). This will refresh it and it will go back to its proper performance. I'm psyched because it works pretty decent on my card, I can't wait until they improve it. xmitchx
Glass worked from after vista first booted for me. I have a nVidia GeForce 5500 FX. But the drive vista provided was horrible and the display was sloooow. So thank you to whoever posted above to "Upgrade" the drive to 75.03 by pointing it to the extracted directory!!! Now I have a nice speedy Glass display :)

spclffred
Ok yes i have the old lddm drivers yes it gibes me animations and glass, but thats the only thing it does, i still scroll thru windows as if i dont have any drivers at all, they lag, i still want to have glass and no lag while scrolling thru a website, i mean if anyone can compile some of nvidias new drivers with lddm support that would be nice. ev0|
this build is a big improvement stability wise over beta 1, I'm getting some hope. Especially it improves once the smbus drivers for nforce2 are installed. sound doesn't work for me at all on this version. I sure hope nvidia gives us drivers that work for soundstorm. Hurmoth
this build is a big improvement stability wise over beta 1, I'm getting some hope. 586541437  I completely disagree... at least with my particular system. I installed it on both on my notebook and desktop (check sig for system specs) and I've had nothing but problems. My desktop runs extremely slow and I cannot seem to get drivers to install on the system without having problems. My desktop is pretty much the same way, except the drivers do install, but the system is extremely sluggish. I thought maybe it was something in the background hung up, but the processor was in use at maybe 3-4%. This build, at least in my opinion, seems to be much worse then the beta 1 build. Out of no where, I'll get the BSOD... MACHINE_CHECK is all it really tells me too. Just a big mess.

No problems during install. I think its different for everyone.

Sure it's not stable enough for any use, but you can see where they're going with it.
ssohn
How did you get them to install because they won't install for me says it cannot find the files for my operating system. (and yes I am using Beta 1 Vista nVidia drivers and not ones meant for XP) 586538320 Neither did I. First, I installed Windows Vista Beta Build 5219, then I added NVIDIA driver for my 7800GTX using supplementary driver pack. After that, I added "EnableMachineCheck = 1" in "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\DWM". No aero-glass effect for me. :( How did you guys with 7800GTX enabled Aero-Glass effect? AQUaDeX
I don't know whats wrong with you guys i have just installed Nvidia(LDDM) drivers in other machine with 6600 256mb didnt get any error just they installed smoothly i've attached the screenshot  586538671 Even if you got it working (I did too), the performance of the effects is extremely slow (compared with Beta 1), the graphics system in Windows Vista changed so much in the last few months they need a new driver for things to work properly.
