I really hate all the people who post no and seem happy about it. Yes, Legal, MCE 05, XP Pro, XP Home and I think I have two Windows Server 2003 Ent. Legal copies around.

Not everyone can afford it. And before you say, "How did they get the computer?" It could have been a gift with windows 2000 on it. I can understand why people pirate.

I understand why some agree not to pay for software for certain reasons,

ex.. costs too much, don't got the money, your a kid, don't support the company, etc etc.. ;))

Exactly. I used to pirate ALLLLL the time. EVERYTHING!! But then I came to Dell and got the MSDN license so now it's nothing. I get every MS product for free...

None of my computers are, and because of me many of my friends and family don't have legit software either.

It's funny how everyone who has a non-legit copy is using Pro.

That's because the "leaked" corporate edition (Devil's Own) was an XP Pro edition. That is what most illegal copies came from........... at least in the beginning....... :ninja:

That, and the fact that if you're going to bother to steal an OS you're probably not gonna get the "home" edition when you have a choice between home and professional...it just sounds cooler ;)

Started off with an illegal copy XP Pro when it came out. Had it for 6 months to test it to see if I liked it, then went and bought legal copy. I do this with all software. I hate wasting mooney on software that is poorly written. If I dont like it I get rid of it, if I do like it I'll buy it to support the industry.

I have an official licence for Windows XP Home, which came with my Dell notebook. I'm using Windows XP Pro now though... by licence of the company where I work. :) I asume this is legal, 'cause I use this notebook mainly for my job.
