Hell NO!

None of my computers are, and because of me many of my friends and family don't have legit software either.

Sort of. I have a Packard Bell Imedia, it didn't come with recovery discs as all the software was on a hidden partition of the hard drive. Anyway, the drive failed totally and I borrowed a copy of XP from work to install. The copy from work is no longer in use at work so I am sort of legit.

Used to be no but I seemed to always be having trouble and having to reformat at least once a week. When I bought a new computer for school I I grabbed XP Pro OEM for 250$, hoping I wouldn't have those kind of problems anymore and whadda-ya know, fairly problem free.

In short answer is yes.

I've never bought Windows, but as an employee of an educational establishment with certain license agreements, it means I can use their copy of Windows XP at home so.. costs me nothing, but its legit. Yay.

Yes and No

Before all the idiots go saying "I hope you're proud of yourself" the only reason I got a pirated one was to see if it was worth buying. If I like it I'll go buy it. A lot of people do this. I haven't downloaded anything since Longhorn 4008 came out. I'm tempted to get Vista 5219 but I figure I'll just wait.

Some people just don't have the money or don't wanna pay a couple hundred buks for something that they might not like or something that might not even work on their system.

the "No - home" is a bit of a silly option as if i remember correctly this version cannoy be pirated...only professional.

ummmm....yes it can. Don't come back saying it can't cuz it happens to be the one I'm running that isn't legit. XP pro is the one I bought cuz they didn't have XP Home

Also, don't forget that local computer shops and even some computer companies will use a single copy to install it on multiple machines. Then the person who buys that computer goes to Windows Update to find out they were unknowingly running a pirated version on their computer. There's a reason Microsoft only tells people to call a number when that happens.

For the people that have said yes and that pirating sucks, I'm sure you have used your copies to install it on a friends or used yours to help fix other peoples problems. So don't give lectures on pirating being stupid and all that.

I have original copies of: Windows 95 (full version), Windows 98 (upgrade), Windows 2000 Professional (Best BUY ever!)... an OEM license for Windows ME that I don't use, two OEM licenses for Windows XP home and an ilegal copy of XP pro.

I also had original: Encarta (95 for sure, 96 or 97 or 98, and 99). After that, google came to my life, no need for Encarta. // Office 95, Office 2000 Premium (which was worth like 400 USD)

I'm not that rich anymore... lol
