devnulllore
Hi, I have the Asus P3V4X mobo and currently I have 4 sticks of PC-100 128Meg memory. I know the board has a 133mhz front side bus and I am wondering if I upgrade the memory to PC-133 (meaning replace it completely) will I really see much of a performance increase? Thanks,
username
yeah, if your CPU and run at the 133mhz FSB though, or you could run you ram at that speed to but that would not do much what speed is your CPU now? or what P3 is it better yet?
Joswin
Even if he has a Coppermine P3, for the cost to replace that amount of PC100 RAM (512mb) with PC133 its not really worth it. The performance increase is not amazing, i took my RAM down to PC100 and ran 3Dmark, it lost me only about 300-400 marks.
devnulllore
I have the P3-800EB. It runs at the 133mhz bus speed. This mobo supports the new high density memory. I can upgrade to PC-133 for about $100.
