ICQ 2002a Beta Build #3728 under WinXP question!

Question

Greetings all:

I am on a static IP DSL connection. On the older versions of ICQ prior to 2002a, it seems the ICQ Netdetect that sits in the systemtray will automatically open ICQ as soon as I logon to the system but with 2002a under WinXP, the yellow flower just sits there and I have to manually right click on it and then open ICQ. Is this normal and is there a workaround to make it automatic since I notice the same problem on other systems as well when I install ICQ 2002a.

Heh, that would work but what's causing the netdetect not to work? Since for some reason, ICQ thinks I'm not connected to the internet.

That's what I already had it on... the weird problem is that even if I delete the 2002a folder, it will say it's not connected to the internet so I get the continue to register or go online dialog when everything else is online. This is a direct connection and I'm not running any firewalls or anything. It's like ICQ for some reason can't detect the connection. If I ran the ICQ program instead of NetDetect, it will load up fine.

i think you have to turn on the

"I am behind a firewall " setting

since your on a network and your server is considered to be a firewall

EDIT: oops i thought you were on a network

but when i read again your on a dsl connection lol

Heh, my computer is connected via static IP on CAT5 directly to the HP Switch and then the switch connects to the ADSL modem which connects to PacHell and then sonic.net the ISP using a RedBack SMS =)
