:: Lyon ::
I'm getting tired now as almost everytime I install something, I have to switch from my user to Administrator Is there an easy way to "open up" the whole permissions scheme so all users can have access to any folders/files in the harddrives? I know Vista is trying to improve security/less-hacked scheme, but I just want to use this personally and I'm confident enough surfing the web and not to get spyware s installed, etc
nautiqueskier
Well first of all give the user account administrator access (Right click My Computer --> Manage --> Local Users and Groups -> Users --> Double Click User --> Click "Member of" tab --> Click "Add" --> Type in "Administrators" as the object name. Then okay out of everything.) You have to do that as an admin, obviously. Then find the "Turn UAP settings on or off" setting on the start menu WHEN LOGGED IN AS THE NEW USER and go through the prompts.
dieterich
Is the "Run As" feature in Vista?? Could be another way you can be logged in as a user and still be able to install as an admin.
