scumdogmillionaire
First off, I have an MSDN subscription so before you guys start yapping off "you shouldn't be using it anyways" keep that in mind. So I finally installed Beta 1 on another partition but the first thing I noticed is my monitors are reversed. What is monitor 1 in XP is now monitor 2 in Vista and vice versa. I have an ATI 9600, Monitor 1 is a FPD in DVI Monitor 2 is FPD in analog Has anyone else noticed this? Kinda sucks :) I submitted the bug, but was maybe wondering if anyone found a fix. Also, I don't see a way to access the Vista Newsgroups with my MSDN subscription? Any thoughts there, or do I just simply not have access?
scumdogmillionaire
really? none of you guys have dual monitors runnin on this thing? hehe
Sn00pY
you can click on the monitor's and literaly drag'n'drop them to the right position... at least I recall doing that under XP so I imagine this follows the same logic...
darkmark327
I assume you have the primary monitor set correctly and that you have dragged the monitors into the desired positions?
scumdogmillionaire
yeah i dragged them to where i wanted them, but the one on the left was always identified as #2. and the taskbar always shows up on the one on the right (#1)
Menge
afaik, the primary and secondary monitors are defined by a checkbox under the controls on that window :) " make this the primary motniro " or something if not, you can always switch the plugs around... it doesn't really make a difference, which is 1st and which is 2nd... unless for games. boocher
Probably an unfixed bug in Beta 1 that has to due with the switch to LDDM drivers. The functionality of the window is the same but the driver can't understand it. Most likely its already fixed in the PDC build. _--boocher
Martog
Actually I've noticed this bug before, and it was booting between XP and XP x64, it seems the drivers cannot keep which display should be primary and which should be secondary according to ports (the way it should be). This is a glaring issue that should be fixed by having one port as Port 1 (Display 1) and the other as Port 2 (Display 2) and add on tv out as Port 3 (Display 3 if applicable, or just TV Out). It can be done in software I bet, but it isn't done. =/ I had to unplug the one monitor as I wasn't using identical LCD's (bad mistake first off, I know...) as it got annoying to fire up a game, only to have it on the low resolution on the better LCD because it was detecting the other as primary and Display 1, and went according to that display. This really won't be a problem with identical monitors, but if not, yeah, it will be. =P
