Concept Computer Idea - is it possible?

Recommended Posts

Hey

I have a concept for the next computer I want to build. I want to know if this is possible and where I can get the parts i need.

Size:

The Computer has to be very small. Roughly the size of a Gamecube. I want it to be portable.

Motherboard:

Because of the size, I can not have a regualr ATX motherboard. The Motherboard needs to be small. I would like to have One AGP slot and one PCI. I would like to have as much intergrated as possible accept for graphics. The CPU does not have to be powerful anything 800mhz and above is good.

Graphics:

Im going to put a geforce 4mx in it,

Other

I want this system to be as wireless as it can, meaning, im going to have a wireless motherboard and mouse. I don't want any exposed wires or recievers so im going to put them inside the case behind a transparent front 3 1/2 bay. Also I would like to put a wireless 802.11b card in the left over pci bay. The Speakers are going to mounted to the computer as well. I was thinking about using the flat speakers, the smalle the better.

Remember im mostly going for Wireless portability here, not PC power.

Any suggestions, ideas, or hardware recomendations, or sites where i can pick up the hardware.

buy an xbox and save yourself the trouble..its essentially a computer!

har har har I'm so funny eh

anyways..I don't know if you can get as small as a Gamecube but you'd have to look at miniATX boards I believe..

yea..thats about as useful as this post is going to get..sorry :ermm:

Hrmm I quite like my large and nice fulltower case actually

dont know that I would want a console for a PC,

but whatever takers ya fancy

its certainly unique and compact if you can do it.

Ok so i learned a few things

First I need a Itx or mini atx motherboard and case.

There are going to be some cables (obviously) for

the monitor and power.

Next I learned that its going to need some good cooling

so im going to have to put a nice heat sinkon it.

I was also thinking of putting a nice side window on the

mini case. it would look really cool.

Some Guy my dad knows made one, it was 166mhz and had a 2gb harddrive, it also had a laptop floppy and cd drive (I think it was just a laptop in a gamecube like case) it was pretty cool, the case looked alot like a gamecube, but it was not one.

He had a usb wireless network card on top of it :)

So you could do this, it would be cool, but I dont know where to get the small mother boards (even laptop ones are larger then that ) :)

Dude stop takin notes and just go buy one of the Shuttle mini-PC's. j/k Seriously, get one of the Shuttle mini-PC's. They have a model for Celeron/P3/Via, P4, and Athlon/Duron. I think its the P4 model that has the AGP slot and another PCI slot. You can also look at the AMS system (the one with the handle on top). It's pretty much the same thing as the Shuttle systems.:D

hehe, Just buy the Toshiba 5100, It has A light blue Chrome Finish Identical to a sweet car paint job. It has a subwoofer and delivers more sound then alot of Big Screen tv's. Top it all off it has desktop replacement stats and I Think it would smoke the geforce 4 mx, with 5038 3dmarks with default settings.

Sorry, like to show off now and again.
