simply if you somehow got faster ram (i know a few chipsets let you have both ddr and sd ram, ok well i think that i know this.) but anyways if you can up that then youll hit 5000 easily.

my radeon 8500 would max out at like 3800 then i overclocked it, no change. but this was on pc 100 pentium 3 now its an athlon 2000 and pc 2700 and that got me over 10000 so theres a big help

well it appears i'm maxed out at 4779 marks.

but still thats cool. for my pc. :) an extra 58 points

core 470

mem 460

i put a new fan (i mean an old fan but bigger on the card). only used 2 screws so its at a slight angle but it cools ok. the pny fan was gay and small. :ninja:

i have a 64MB geforce 440 go, on a 1.6GHz P4, and i get 4900 no overclocking.. :p

yea if you are overclocking that graphics card why not up that cpu a little too. thats gonna help a whole lot. a little more fsb can be a big plus in that benchmark (at least in my experience) so go read about that and then ask some more questions.

ah u see i have pc133 sdram so its gonna be slower than your ddr ram, thus my marks will be slightly lower than yours.

i suppose, that just proves that the memory is more important than the proc speed :D

i ran the test once again got a 4909.

P4 + SDRAM is definately a drawback. DDR or RDRAM with P4's SDRAM is very poor.

lol 3dmark does have the tendancy to change scores each time u do a bench mark. and about the ram thing, yea one of my m8s says having ddr ram only makes a slight difference but only on some types, yours seems to make a largish difference though must be a good make, i guess the ones he was thinking about suck. i'd probably be better off getting a new cpu as my mobo only supports pc133 mem. dang.

have you tried all the programs like cpufsb and softfsb and made sure everything is correct settings.

and yea having a p4 and sdram is basically like getting a ferrari and not have any gas. so youd most likely get a big help from a new mobo and some ddr ram.

better analogy would have been the ferrari and using 87 octane gas.

Oh yeah, def. upgrade your motherboard to ddr ram. It'll run a lot better. I still have SDRam but that's because I'm runing a 1GHz Celeron  Ah well...Anyways, you should def. do that, and you'll easily hit 5000. Great job with the O/C though.

[edit] I have a XFX GF4 MX with 3.8ns Samsung RAM [/edit]

That MX probably cant handle some of the tests right? so your not gonna get a good overall score, I get 11,130 on my GeForce4 with NO overclocking :D
