takai003
Hmm. Those icons are pretty lame for Microsoft standards. Not too fond of the colors either. I'm loving the tabs though!
Joseph Zollo
That UI looks like a trainwreck! I'll wait until the final version to pass judgement though.

profets
i really dont like parts of the layout, such as the back, forward+address bar, and the location of File,Edit toolbar.. it would look much better with the File,Edit,View kept at the top, and the back, forward buttons & address bar below the tabs.. or at least let it be customizable

Denis W. Veteran Posted September 23, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 23, 2005 Aw gosh... The only component of Vista that really looks like ass is Internet Explorer. Other parts of the OS really look nice (and amazing) but for God's sake, IE7 is just cluttered and an eyesore to look at. :pc:
amrinders87
Nothing really new. They showed these off at PDC. Looking goo, though.

Galley
Favorites Center? I don't see anything new. At least Opera has a Bookmark Manager. Zoom feature? How long has Opera had that, five or six years?
Mr. Dee
Based on those screenies, I would say you are only able to fit in two tabs. Why don't they more some of task links on the drop down menu toolbar like it is presently?

Malisk
Yes, I think MS doesn't seem to have many good UI designers still :( Three different background colors for the UI alone. What the heck... And I never liked the way tabs are created -- by clicking an empty square rectangle? I'm hoping it's just a placeholder.
Miran
Ya I have to agree with the consensus (in this thread anyways) that it is pretty hideous. However, I don't imagine this will be the final look. If this is the final look, I imagine there will be an option to switch back to a more classic look. It should really look like explorer does in Vista, which would adhere to their UI design guidelines.

liam-Kincaid
Just as long as MS keeps the XP theme or Classic Theme in the final version and the ablilty to Change the layout of the buttons like IE6 I'll be happy.... I am definally not feeling the black thing either. I think MS could of done a better job with the UI. But we still got another year till the final so who knows.
