Windows Vista splash screen?

In a channel 9 video, they said they are still working on making them 'blend better' as well as new designs so we could see some new effects and no more judgering graphics flashing on and off. :)

Windows 2000 and Me used solid white backgrounds, and that showed off the 60hz flickering much more. They looked nice but gave me a headache; I think that's why they switched to black.

My favorite splash screen: :)

the original idea back in the 40xx builds was to have lddm load way before you even see the slash screen so when you do see the spash screen enough drivers would be loaded to show a unique animation. They may still be trying to do that, i dont know. So basicly the splash screen could have an avalon/xaml animation instead of just a static logo and a progress bar.

Why is a splash screen so important in a pre beta II operating system?

I dont get why its so important. Its a splash screen its not going to make my b0x0r more secure or run faster, right?

Everything if just a placeholder as stated.

The splash screen, login screen, pretty much a lot of the UI that doesn't make the user experience any better will hold off because they have much more important things to worry about. They could hire a graphics designer to make a design for them in no time, no need to put that useless stuff into a full operating system they are trying to build.
