tareqsiraj
Hi all, I installed both AdBlock Plus and the Filterset.G extensions. Everything is working fine but i'm having problem with the Toms Hardware site. The logo and some of the images seems to be broken if I enable adblock. Now, if I want to allow this site (ignore ads on this site).. what should i put on the filter? Thanks in advance.
IceDogg
Do you mean whitelist the whole site, including the ads? If so you can ad @@tomshardware.com But that will allow the ads to come through too. I wonder something though what other then the logo are you not able to see? I also see broken image link like them in yahoo mail too. It just looks bad. Is there any way i can hide them? and for Toms Hardware... is there any way to ignore the image and show it? Thanks for your time.
IceDogg
Ok that's not adblock plus. You need to clear your cache it looks like to me. Tools/options/privacy/cache and there should be a button to clear cache then close browser reopen and see if that helps all these different sites. A fast way, I think, is Hold ctrl and press f5 If you haven't change what f5 does. Try that and post back here if it doesn't work. Also, are you on dialup? or Broadband? I tried clearing the cache several times... but no result. Also tried hard refresh (ctrl.+f5). I'm on cable broadband. Any idea why this is happening to me? Thanks. also, @@tomshardware.com isnt working. I tried the same with neowin.net but i cant see the google ad on the top and the one on the right side of the page while adblock plus is enabled. Here is a screenshot of my adblock preference. Edited September 24, 2005 by tareqsiraj
IceDogg
Goto adblock preferences and check site whitelisting..that will allow all ads on that site. I think you have a bad filter that's blocking that much on tomshardware.com. I have G's filters too and mines not near that bad. EDIT: you know what the screenshot is not of adblock plus. That's the old adblock which doesn't have whitelisting. So you need to remove that extension and install adblock plus to use whitelisting. That might be the biggest problem. Adblock Plus 586574651[/snapback] yup.. that was the problem. it was adblock old version. thanks... but now, it also blocks the tomshardware logo. I think i'll just allow that site to have ads. Thanks again.

pierceive
Next time, try the Filterset.G Forums. The tomshardware issue is explained in the "Common Requests" announcement. http://forum.pierceive.com/viewtopic.php?t=
