stncttr908 Veteran Posted September 30, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 30, 2005 I'll probably get it free through my university. One could argue that I've actually "bought" it since I pay tuition, but that's being a tad bit too technical.

Barney T. Administrators Posted October 1, 2005 Administrators Share Posted October 1, 2005 I'm on the fence at this point..... so much MS hype. Their PR machine is in overdrive. I'll probably stick with Linux as my main OS and use XP for my on-line banking (a bank requirement, not mine). If there is something really dramatically better about Vista, I might try it. I am most certainly going to look at the security issues as Vista hits the market.......... Barney
quixos
if i can't back up dvd's with it i won't even use it. might eventually buy it in the far future if that is all that is available to read email and do word processing. hopefully in 6 years i'll be thru with computers and into gardening or carpentry or somthing, so it won't be that big a deal. Huy
Probably will. Student pricing isn't so bad! Although it doesn't compare to OS X Tiger $129 AUD! I'm liking Vista though...
Aapke
I think not.. Installing Vista would be like abusing my poor p3.. :( I'll stick with XP.

bsquirle
no way! (unless I get myself a new pc before the launch, then I might think about it <- VERY unprobable) However, If I can get my hands at it via MSDNAA, I might give it a try.
