HoochieMamma
Ok, the idea of being able to choose your language at the start of the installation process of Vista and being able to change (on-the-fly) languages IN vista interests me greatly. Has there been any word on such features? I read here that there is going to be the MUI feature in the enterprise and ultimate versions of Vista. So I would assume that there would be such types of language features included.
xp1ode
you know i been thinking about why this feature wast implemented into windows before, to start with windows 2000 actually. It would be great if they did implement it but not only on 2 versions, i mean there are going to be 7 versions of it so why not implement it in all of them, you know the cheaper ones are the ones that will attract more people, as in 3rd world countries... HoochieMamma
What I'm wanting to know is (because I don't have a windows version with MUI) will the Ultimate version of Vista ask for a language at the start of installation and use that language though out the system and make it posible to change the language easily in the control panel or something? PS: I'm suprised that it isn't in 2000/XP now as standard...

hjimmy
Yeah personally I also want to know if Ultimate version will have MUI built-in. But not likely because M$ only thinks that only super big global corporation need those... but like OS X, Fedora, etc... have those all built-in M$ really sucks with Unicode and non-Unicode support so they will not let you change on the fly. Well, You can change the interface (P.S. Interface ONLY) when you log off and log back on. However, there is a non-unicode default thing that requires restart... and since most of the windows programs are not Unicode anyway (include most of the ones from M$) so changing only the interface is almost useless because you can't install other non-Unicode langauge program... so basically MUI let you have MUI for Windows and Office, English (western language in general) programs, and the localized program for that non-Unicode default language you choose.... THAT'S IT. Edited September 25, 2005 by hjimmy

Commodore Max
I heard about that too. That would be a *very* great feature. It's much easier than having to reinstall it every time !
