et1
Well basically when I start up I have choppiness in the windows, which I feel is caused by heavy HDD usage. The HDD is heavily used for several minutes after startup which is strange. Then once the system becomes idle I have to go to a website that uses java, which turns vista special effects off, then close the website, which enables the vista special effects. After all of this everything is smoothe. Any ideas what might be causing the heavy hard drive usage in the beginning? I have checked task manager and whatever is accessing the hard drive heavily apparently isn't using much cpu process since I couldn't find any process using heavy cpu usage. I dont remember this problem in the previous build, I am currently using 5219. As far software I have very programs installed. 1. Nvidia LDDM 75.03 driver 2. Java 3. Azureus 4. Nforce Network Driver My video card is a Nvidia 6600gt, being used on K8N Neo2 Platinum. hopefully my post is somewhat clear.
BigCheese
I have the same problem. I just restart the DWM service and restart it a couple of times. You can use a simple batch file to do it for you: @echo off net stop uxsms net start uxsms
et1
Ok, thanks for the help. I kind of figured this will just be another one of those things that will be hopefully fixed in Beta 2.
et1
Im probably being an idiot but I couldn't find how to edit my previous post. All I wanted to mention was the batch file works great.
cropcircles
Some say a little more choppier then previous build. I would agree. The good thing is they're putting out new builds everyday. !
:: Lyon ::
There are certain folders in my computer that somehow freezes Vista for a while when I wanted to access it through explorer Had turned off indexing to see if it's the culprit, but it's not.hm
Commodore Max
DWM isn't the most stable component of Vista right now ... Restarting it a few times should easily solve your problem !
