toxictoaster_737
Hey I have tried to enable DWM effects in 5219, but i can't seem to get it to work at all. I have installed the supplementry drivers (screenshot) I have tried the registry edits (see screenshot2) I have added a new user, None of this has enabled me to have DWM I have a Nvidia 6600GT 128mb, i know that it was able to use dwm in the past. but now for some reason its not. Can someone please offer some insight into what is the problem, and how i can fix it.
Dasgooch
Toxic, I have the exact same card and this is how I got it working correctly. You need to install the older LDDM drivers available on Nvidia's website. I found them by doing a google search for LDDM and Nvidia. I believe the driver version is 75.03 I could be wrong here but im pretty sure thats it. The other thing I tried while trying to getting it to work was add the DWM key, this actually broke alot of the glass features for me, so I would recommend you delete this key all together. TheWahbinator
Dude, your keys are all wrong. Delete the entire HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DWM. Yes, the whole folder. You add DWORDS, not just tack on the word "DWORD" to the beginning. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DWM] "EnableMachineCheck"=dword:00000000 That's all you need, you can manually add a DWORD (NOT STRING) and set it to 1. Sound.Phucker
Exactly how do I key in these entries to the registry? I know how to open regedit, but I dont know what type of entry this is. String Value or DWORD Value? What do I do after that? I tried copying and pasting the entries into notepad and saving them as a .reg and then adding them to the registry that way, but that didn't work. If someone could please help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
