Organizing case cables...

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm building my new system soon and i want to see pics of your computers with all cables on the inside of the case neatly organized so i have a guide when organizing my cables...

I'll be using one of those popular Antec style SOHO file server cases...

Those cables are a pain in the arse m8, they're just so big I have trouble organising ANY kind of cable routing. I just tape most of them along the metal edges so that they don't restrict airflow.

That's right TAPING, is one economical way to go. :)

I use a combination of zip ties and spiral tubing. Bilston is right, those machine rounded cables are a pain in the a$$ to bend and flex because the plastic sheath is too thick. I just a generic cheap IDE and Floppy cable and split every few wires with an X-acto knife (took me a half hour for each one). For the spiral tubing you can either check your local hardware store or Fry's Electonics (if you are on the west coast). You can also buy them from here from KD Computers. It only cost me less then $5.00 per cable and they are ALOT more flexible then the machine rounded cables.

I made my own, just took my pocket nife and cut every four cables, very very very carefully. Then I tightly wraped it with eletrical take (the black tape.)

2 sets of cables

Money spent. $0.00

Money saved. $50.00 ( roughly 25 dollers a cable, around here)
