The computer I bought 4 years ago for $1400, now eMachines sells a similiar spec'd computer for $299.99. That hurts. :cry:

Well it will probably take the full page if I'll start writing the specs for all the pcs and mac out there.

but just to give you idea....

for the one that drives the 3 and soon to be 4 monitors specs are:

shuttle AMD box:

AMD 3600+

3GB Mushkin DDR Ram

74GB WD 10R RPM SATA

400GB WD 16Ms SATA

GeForce 6600GT AGP VideoCard

GeForce XF5200 PCI VideoCard

Intel box:

3.6Ghz Intel

2GB Cruicial DDR Ram

2 x 200GB Seagate HD 8Ms IDE

GeForce XF5600 AGP VideoCard

3 LanBoys are test pcs/file servers.

as for how much I spend on the setup its hard to say, I didn't build it in one day like it is right now, it was build over the time with adding/changing components for lat 5 years, so not all my stuff is up to date, the listed is more or less.

my workstation...

how do you like this desk? i've probably browsed about a thousand of them so far, and this is one of the few that have caught my eye and in a good price range. only thing it lacks is room for my speakers/receiver, which i could put else where if the desk is top notch.
