The French Foreign Legion would win. They don't have namby pamby rules to adhere to whilst training.

Plus most of them are hard barstewards on the run from something so they have nothing to lose

actually i believe there is now a new one been made by our uk government out of sas and the like called Special reconnasance (sp?) or something like that, they are designed to tackle terroist threats specifically and are the best of the sas, sbs, marines etc. So they would probably kick bottom.

Though i say the French Foreign Legion as i intend to join them in about a year

here we go:

official news about it -

and the information about the regiment -

Actually, the Canadian Joint Task Force-2 commando is the best trained and most decorated special forces outfit in the world.

You guys do know that 'special forces' aren't these incredible super warriors that cannot be seen and kill men by the hundreds? That's Hollywood and books hyping what they do. They are human, just better trained.

Like 1 on 1 or what? These are hard to do. Is it a mission like rescue the hostages or kill all the terrorists in a certain time? Is it a 1 on 1 fight between a member of each? Is it a team on team fight with no outside resources? Is it a team on team fight with outside resources? That's a really hard question.

I mean you could have like the baddest ass mofo on the planet and he could get taken down by a regular infantry unit's sniper team.

I'd say Pirates would own all.

Deltas or SEALs.....Actually I think they are all pretty much the same. Crazy dudes with crazy training and crazy weapon...no real huge differences if they are in a knock-down drag-out fight.

There was an article in Maxim Magazine a few years back comparing all the worlds special forces...I think the French Special Forces (don't remember the name) had the best marksment...the SAS had the most rigerious training...Spetznaz was the best hand-to-hand combat...Israeli Special Forces were the best in Anti-Terrorist activities...Deltas had the most diversive weapons and driving training...and the SEALs took first place overall because of their stealth activities and extensive weapons/expolsives training. They also will come at you from the land, sea, and air.

They told a story that took place in the first Gulf War...about how 3 SEAL teams (6 men total) kept 30,000 Iraqi troops fighting for 4 days before they pulled out. They did this to create a diversion for the main invasion coming from behind the Iraqi troops. They would come in by sea and set explosives on and around the Iraqi camp and retreat to sea for detonation. Then they would parachute in the same night and set more explosives behind the camps then retreat to the sea. They kept doing stuff like that over and over

The SAS, all the other special forces in the world recieve training from them.

For the guys in the US, their Delta forces were based on the SAS after the UK SAS commander went to the US in the 1950's - and the US Army commander realised he didn't have an special elite unit of soliders.

Radish?

Thats true...but the SAS also recieves training from the Deltas and SEAL teams...it works both ways...They do it frequently in all branches of military.

Hard one to call, as they all train from the same book. But since I'm British, it has to be the SAS. And most of the other units are based on them anyway.

...well, I dont know about that, but I do know that JTF-2 snipers can hold their own against snipers from all the worlds special-services.

They are a pretty well-kept secret, too. I remember watching a sniper competition on OLN between British SAS, US SF, and JTF-2. The US and British Snipers had names and faces on TV, but whenever they talked to a JTF-2 sniper, his face was blocked out, and no name was given.

I doubt they stack up on the equipment side of the scale, but the previous track-record of the Gurkhas is of honourable mention I think.

The Israeli Special Forces would stomp all of these guys. They have more experience than anyone in the world plus when they fight, they are really fighting for the survival of their country.

I don't think that you can really judge who would be better between US, German, French and British special forces, it probably all comes down to combat experience.

I imagine they all have great equipment too.
