Why does everyone want thrasher guitars. I mean I don't mean to be so "i'm right your not' but like there is nothing that a thrasher guitar can do that you can't do better on more classic ones.

If your going to spend the money you might as well get a guitar that can really do just about anything besides JUST metal styles of playing.

If you want more variation in tone, go for the jackson, but if you want something which is a bit more quality, solid and defined tone, and from personal experience; a better feel, then go for the LTD

I want to play metal. Simple as that.

If I want to play a different style, I'm sure a Jackson or ESP wouldn't explode if I tried anything but metal on it. And if they do - then I have an Aria, a Squire ( :x ) and my da has an Ovation.

Thanks, I'll consider that when buying.

I really like my old Jackson (I'm using an Ibanez now), only thing I hate about it is the bridge. Besides being a pain when changing strings and tuning, there's nothing you can do with it that cannot be achieved by other means that, unlike tremolo bridges, don't imply detuning every other string when bending :pinch:

Anyway if you'll be playing (only) metal you'll really like the Jackson's sound. I've not tried any ESP so I cannot give an opinion on them.

^^ Hmm, does it use a Floyd Rose. Pain in the ass they are.

Tbh, don't go for a specific brand. Goto a guitar shop, and play until you find one you love, enjoy and that sounds good.

I mean basically don't just aim for them two guitars, and if you do try different ones first. Not all guitars are the same though you probably know that.

Also whats wrong with your Aria (got one they have pretty crappy hardware but ive done a few mods maybe i can give you some advice).
