I've donated once every two months for the last two years. Sure it can be painful at times, but when they tell you that you're saving a life when you donate, they're not lying.

Nope, they won't let me b/c i'm gay, but I would if I could all the time :)

Stupid huh? I understand why this policy is in effect, but I've been in a monogamous relationship for 5 1/2 years and still get tested every 6 months anyways. So how could hiv/aids be the issue. Hmmm..

Also, if its all about the promiscuous sex we gays tend to have then str8, thats not true. It's equal.

And if its the bum sex issue, some str8s do have that. I know many won't say they do, but they do... lol

Some will say lie to them but I can't. I respect their policies.

^If you don't have HIV and they have tested you and they know that then whats the problem?

It's the fact i'm a homosexual, they don't care.

I already tried giving blood and they said sorry we can't take it from you after asking the list of questions :(

Too bad for them, I'm type O, universal.

No.  I know this sounds wrong but, People die for a reason.  If we keep saving people the world is just going to get even more over populated.

Actually back in the 80's or 70's in Canada there was a big blood issues, and they collected hep c from donors and then gave it to people who needed blood. Back then I guess hep c wasn't big and 1000's got infected :( There was a big lawsuit that just finished up with that recently I think, it was on the news last yr.

The very first time i gave blood, they messed up somehow. They found my vein but i guess it wasnt connected right, so instead of the blood going to the bag, it was like internally bleeding and it left a huge bruise there. It was black and blue for about 2 weeks.
