Hey, I've been asked to prove:

Not really sure how to do this, so any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks

square both sides first. The rest should become apparent after some simplification.

hmm i'll help you out with the first one (i'm doing revision so i need the practice). the second equation is similar so i'm sure you can do that yourself. :)

Surprising as it may sound, I will benefit from this because I'll know how to do the question or questions with similarities to this one in exams should it ever occur. I'd rather learn how to do this now, rather than wait for school to start again (in about a week's time) for my teacher to explain this to me (which he most likely won't seeing as this is 4 unit maths and our school has only begun 3 unit). Seeing as there are people on this board who know how to do this question, why shouldn't I ask for a bit of help now and again? Isn't that the idea of a board? To hold discussions and to assist fellow members?

Maybe you've temporarily lost sight of that.

Edit: Thanks SojIrOu
