_sphinx_
I feel the beatles are more like britney spears and avril lavigne...OVERRATED AND FAKE! But that doesn't make them bad! IMO, The beatles are the third best band ever: 1st being Rolling stones, 2nd tool (4th queen and 5th Led zippelin). The Rolling stones are...just perfect! as simple as that! SadJoker
Awww, c'mon. How can you call the Beatles fake? I love both bands equally. That was a low blow, man. :x

ZappBrannigan
I like both, but i definetly prefer the beatles. There music was a whole range of variaty of styles and consistently great quality, can't think of another band that are like them in that way. brotherrabbit
Omg. this thread angers me greatly. But my anger is dismissed when I think about the logic this guys is saying when he made this thread. The beatles are fake..... let's all look at this as an example of completely ignorance and stupidity and learn from it. And secondly, how DARE you compare the consistantly evolving sounds of the Beatles to the stale cancer that is Britney Spears or any other bull**** pop group/individual. Overrated for the beatles, that might be. At the time of their conception, it was either Elvis or The Beatles, so .. yes it was overplayed etc. Otherwise, your so wrong it hurts me to even type in your thread. Back to the topic at hand, Rolling Stones Vs. The Beatles, that's like comparing the taste of a watermelon to a pineapple. It's just not possible. Long live Good music. Music needs to be saved. We need a new Beatles / Rolling Stones. Where are you!?!?!?!?
Pug
The Beatles!!! Their impact on music was bigger AND their songs are greater. I'm going to see Paul McCartney next monday in Toronto... I can't wait to see this show!
Kerm
^^I'm not saying that this band are upto any near Beatles standard but I think Coldplay have definately made a lasting impression on me, and i can't get tired of any of their songs. I guess it's preferance, but you're right there are no real show stopping great bands nowadays. The Beatles, U2, not everybody loves them but a hell of a lot of people do, and the songs they make change music for sure. Perhaps it's that if such a band started now we would not appreciate the size or impact they have until perhaps a few decades later as with a lot of the 'huge' bands. I don't know. But yea u2 are probably the only band close, i agree ther ;)

Lanky
The beatles are the best ****ing band ever and that's not even imo it's the truth. Rolling stones come in a close second though. Only newer band that I really like would be oasis.
Fedorpheux
I'd have to say The Beatles > The Rolling Stones I can't really put up a list of my Top 10 favorite bands or something like that because the band that I like the most often depends on my mood or the time of day. The bands that are always somewhere near the top of the list include (and this is in no real order): The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, ACDC, and that's all that I can think of off the top of my head but there are plenty more. Kilgore Trout
first of all this is a ridiculous thread...its like comparing apples and oranges. "Exile on Main Street" is just as a great album as the "White Album," but for different reason. and if you knew your history... the Beatles wrote "I Wanna be your Man" for The Stones, before Jagger/Richards had any confidence in their own abilities, but they soon stepped up to the plate. as for the Britteny comparison, you should have your ipod taken away, and never be allowed to listen music ever again

Fedorpheux
...1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles ... 586629246[/snapback] That's funny because I don't know where you got that list from, but I was just talking to a bunch of people earlier today about how my favorite whole album is definitely Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. I don't really even have a favorite song, but my favorite album is definitely this one.

naap51stang
how come there wasn't a "neither" option for the poll? Here's my "why I don't like either reason...... I grew up with an older sister who played the @#$%^( beatles morning noon and night when they first came out, she was a teenager, I was 6-10 years old during the time period. I've heard the song "They love you yeah yeah yeah" so many times, I thought I would go postal if I heard it again! As for the Rolling Stones....BEFORE I got an XM satellite radio, the local "rock" stations around here would play a rolling stones song every 10 minutes! And, they've been around since the 60's, have hundreds of songs, but the radio stations play the SAME 5 ROLLING STONES SONGS constantly! Plus, they need to give it up......they are in their late 50's and look like poster children for the anti drug posters...... Ok, I'll go take my prozac........ :alien:
