Well some Dell's use the "Del" key to enter BIOS, but most use the F2 Key. Dimension T series uses the "Delete" key!

If you get into BIOS SETUP you should "restore setup defaults" by :

press the key.

Press the to confirm that you would like to load the defaults.

Press the key and then press the key to save your changes and exit.

The system will reboot.

If you don't get into BIOS setup you could try to clear NVRAM by going into "Maintinace Mode"

Check for details here: http://support.dell.com/us/en/kb/document....FA1023538#reset

The Dell Dimesion T series also comes with a "POST Diag. LED" on the back panel. These Diagnostic LED will usualy tell you what/where/when something is wrong in the hardware.

Ref: http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/systems/dkub/codemess.htm

If you don't trust that, or dont bother to check it, then old fasioned Troubleshooting is the way to go.

First: Check alla cables, cards are seated, and perhaps most important: the CPU.. dont just check it; reseat it. The same goes with memory.

if this doent help it's time to use the elimination method... remove and start untill you might remove a faulty card/cable/mem-moudule, drive etc.

Hope this helped!

does it power down after it 'just stops'?

does the screen go into power saving mode?

can you reboot with CRTL-ALT-DLT or do you have to do a hard reset?

bad power supply is a possibility, make sure the little red switch back there is selected to one side or the other and not in betwee, and try it on both settings. my XPS T500 used the lower setting fine.

could also be a CPU problem as others have suggested, try reseating it (should be very simple with this Slot-type)

Thanks guys for your help & suggestions

So far I have tried all of the above and I am currently looking at the diagnostic LED's which are currently showing 3 Green and 1 Yellow (GGGY)

havyn when the DELL boot screen vanishes there is nothing and crtl-alt-dlt doesn't work I have to do a hard reset infact the keyboard does nothing no lights at all. On a couple occasions it has actually gone past the boot screen and done the mem test, I press DEL but nothing happens it just freezes and again I have to do a hard reset !

I have reseated everything

The four LED's concern me though because according to the docs I got of Dells site it tells me that the reason is "OTHER" and to contact DELL. NO WAY got to fix this myself.

Do you guys think the MB is stuffed?
