conan_2000
Definitely go for the GeForce 4 Ti 4200, considering the price difference between that and it's faster siblings, it is definitely the best value. There's not a huge performance difference anyway. And where as obviously the 128Mb would be the better option, this is up to you as it depends how much cash your willing to part with, although this will probably be worth the difference. Roger H. Veteran Posted July 17, 2002 Veteran Share Posted July 17, 2002 yeah, i'd go for that card. I don't know how much money you got but get that card.. !! Any card on the TI-4200 core would be good. All you need is a good monitor and you're set.
DigitalDJ
GF4 4200 is great performance for money...if ur a graphix designer ull definatly need 128MB with that ull pretty much run everything smoothly..BUT if u dont care about money go get a Gainward GF4 4600...they are supposed to be the most powerful GF4 around :)
TheFlusher
Yes u guys were right bout 4200..it got 94% from PC Gamer, and all that..But wasn't enough sure if its worth getting 64 OR 128mb.. I have done research..64 mb DDR cost 199 while 128 cost 30 more...But now my NEW concern is.. Will Geforce 4 ti4200 DDR 64 or 128 will work on my mobo that doesnt support DDR but has AGP.. Help once again!:ermm:
jessejlt
The memory your system uses has nothing to do with what your video card uses, so a DDR based card is fine. Also typically the 64MB versions use 3.6ns memory and the 128mb version uses 4ns memory, so the 64mb version will have a higher speed rating than the 128. (4ns=500mhz and 3.6ns= 556mhz) As far as gaming is concerned the 64 mb version would be better.
Dan.Varga
the DDR is on the video card...and the 64mb cards are the MX series the Ti's are the 128....u need to buy a Ti...the MX's are basically just geforce 2's overclocked...the DDR is just for the video card...not the mobo
