CD-RWS and audio

Question

Please forgive me if this belongs in the Hardware discussion...

I bought some CD-RWs under the impression that I can burn some audio cds, and erase the cds when my music tastes change. I have burned two cds, but when I try to erase them (in Nero and Easy CD Creator 5), I always get a 'Track Following' error I used to always burn and erase data to cd-rws without any problems. Is it just impossible to burn rewritable audio cds?

no..u can but ..u should be able to erase the disk with the EZCD CD-RW Eraser in the start menu program group of EZCD

if that dont work..maybe it was a faulty CD-RW :s

The first cd I tried to erase was with Nero. At that time, I used full erase. The second CD, I used Easy CD Creator, but quick erase. I have a feeling that it is the media (Memorex 70-min, 800mb, 4x)

did you happen to finalize the cd accidentally? if you do that, you can pretty much call your CD-RW a CD-R. Check that next time you burn, because in some cases you must finalize to play the cd... just my 2 cents

Hmm...I will check up on that. I remembered that when I used Easy CD Creator 5 on a cd-r, it wouldn't let me make unfinalized audio cd. I always try to finalize the session, but not the cd, and it didn't work. Ithought that's how I used to make my cds, too. I thought I was going senile or something. Maybe I have a bad install of the software...:o

I meant 80min/700MB

well sorry to say but your 2 cents is invalid. You can erase a CDRW up to 1000 times and no you can't lock it unless something is wrong with my Nero and my burner. It's always set to finalize CD when i burn anything (including movies on CDRWs) and when i'm tired of the movie or mp3s i erase them and then write a new set.

w00t?!

Finalising a CD-RW means you can't burn anything else?! (even after erasure?)

I think that's the problem right there. I've had several problems with memorex media. i've learned that their media always manages to f*** up somehow. Try some other brand of media, and see if it works.
