unless we're told by the teacher Yes it's ok to them by their first name, it's usually Mr or Mrs xxx...

Sigmund Freud would have have a field day studying most of you if he was still alive.

Very weird poll, even weirder so many people have said Yes.

I do not mean weird in a bad way either, I just mean weird as in strange, as it seriously never once crossed my mind while I was in school.

Unless they tell us how they want to be called (or not make it obvious), I'll just go "Sir" or "Miss". I haven't heard anyone call a teacher by "Mr." or "Mrs." in any of my classes.

Less weird than you think. Some of us would get so attached to the teacher in good and bad ways that one day, it just slips from your mouth and then in that split second you go "wtf just happened" in your head  Edited by rainman.

I know I did once because when I was in elementary school I had a substitute teacher whose name was Mrs. Young and my last name is Young, so I remember calling her Mom by mistake.

I sure did! We, (the class) back in gradeschool, were reading a story, and had to answer some review questions......I went up to the teacher's desk, after having some trouble, and for some reason, a thought of my mom (could've been a worry, but I'm not sure....it's been approx. 20 yrs. ago  ) and accidentally began my question with, "hey, mom..." I felt like I was going to die! The whole class heard me, and laughed, of course, but I laughed too. It WAS an accident, and one heck of a chuckle! :D :pinch:

Yes, I have...a few times.

It's easy to make the mistake of calling your teacher Mom.

They're both older females who you spend alot of time with and they are usually

always telling you what to do. :D

we had to call female teachers ma'am, so even if you didn't you could just brush it off as someone mishearing :D
