Dedicated Server Setup Help

Recommended Posts

I have just taken control of my first dedicated server from Layered Tech, and thought it would be easy enough to setup, how wrong was I?!

I have cPanel / WHM installed on CentOS 4 x64.

I have added my hostname and DNS entries to the server config page, and when adding the A Enties to the DNS, is states:

The zone for the root domain neoplanet-hosting.com is missing, or could not be read. The ip address will be read from the webserver configuration and a new zone will be created for this subdomain.

When looking at the dedicated hostname page, it states something totally different to the hostname i have entered.

I have now gone to add my first domain (that which the DNS are registered too), and it doesnt add. It states account creation complete, however thats all it says, no additional data like NS, account username etc. When i then list accounts, nothing has been added.

Additionally, i have no DNS Zone templates!

I have tried adding a Zone template (not knowing what i am doing), and it states it was successful, but again, it is not saved.

Anyone able to help me, or even take a look at the server for me?

Craig
