spike232
Has anyone got the livedrive to work with the new creative drivers?? it seems the driver for it is missing, cause the device controls are not in the audio hq, and withought that u cant use remote center which comes with these drivers :ermm: anyone have any luck getting it working?? and yes the hardware of it is connected right, int remote still works, cause it interfaces with the drive not the drivers. the first drivers that dont crackle or cause shutdown issues with xp and they introduce another problem, will creative ever get it right?? gam_EZ
I downloaded the drivers from asia.creative.com (neowin link) and my live drive works just fine still. try uninstalling the drivers completely, then reinstalling them. :china:
Cat Called Domino
I've uninstalled them and used regcleaner to delete all Creative Tech registry items and then it was back to the windows drivers and then installed the new ones and it still didn't work. I stayed up all night tryin' it all and no luck whatsoever. I installed nearly 3 year old drivers and they worked fine.....then I uninstalled those and did regcleaner again and installed the new ones. Oh well.....I guess my live drive will be on vacation for a while 'till creative gets their act together. Seems like they're becoming a lot more like the old ATI. Hehe......and speaking of ATI, man their new card rocks! I have to give 'em major credit....major. Now I'm waiting for nVidia to release their Nv30 and make pudding out of the ATI card. Cat Called Domino
oh yeah......that reminds me. I'm running Windows 2000 professional here. And for some reason the PlayCenter that comes with it...(50 meg download) just locks my computer when I pu in an audio CD. Man.....what does a guy have to do to get something to work. And yes....I spent all night working that problem out to......the best I got it to was it reads the CD and then attempts to look it up and then.....locks my computer and draisn my CPU 'till you don't know if you should restart it or throw it out the window and get an Audigy. yashiro
Won't installing the new drivers over an older working set leave the Live drive functionality intact?
Cat Called Domino
not on my computer.......I tried everything. Creative emailed me back asking if I had an OEM version.......and I said "no, I bought it from the ****ing store...and it worked fine until these new drivers. Make these same drivers that work for mine" and I gave 'em all my model numbers and they said they don't get why it doesn't work.
spike232
The new drivers(new official ones from creative) for me fix: the crackling sound in windows. they break: no live drive Win dvd 4 (crashes then screws the sound up really bad permently, sys restore to fix) loud bussing/hissing/ crackling etc when windows boots /loginscreen goes away when start sound playes so i can live with that :p i have instlled them fresh, and over the top, both cases the same, cause they remove old ones first (finnaly got rid of delver) it seems from the creative forums this is kinda 50/50 weather it works brilently or weather u have no live drive are you the spike i know from BS? dont know what BS stands for so i guess not,
