Hotmail and OE Sync Problem

Question

This doesn't seem like the right place to post this, but none of the forums seemed quite right.

I've got a big problem. My girlfriend is overseas for the summer and is using her Hotmail account for email. Of course with the 2MB storage limit, this fills up pretty quick, so I told her I could backup some of her messages so she could delete them off Hotmail. I did this by adding her hotmail account to Outlook Express in WinXP. There were 3 folders with emails in them that she wanted backed up, and after the emails had been downloaded to OE, for each folder I right clicked and under Synchronization Settings I checked "Don't Synchronize". Thinking they were safe, I then went into her Hotmail account through the web and deleted the emails in those folders.

Then I went back into OE and clicked on one of the folders that contained the backed up emails, and they were there for a few seconds, and then they all disappeared. It seems OE saw that the emails were no longer on Hotmail, so it deleted them even though synchronization was turned off. This only seemed to happen to folders I clicked on, so I went into the OE store directory and copied the .dbx for the folders to a safe place. Even though they are all now empty, the .dbx files seem to have a fairly large size.

These were important emails to her (for her job and personal) and I'm hoping someone knows a way to get the emails back, either through importing them from the dbx files or any other way.

Please Help, and sorry it took me so damn long to explain it. :hurt:
