Vista vs. Office 12

Recommended Posts

Man, IMHO Office 12 UI looks 100x better than Vista UI?

I know both are not completed, but at their current stages in development Office is way more, innovative, futuristic and smart!

I had big hopes for Vista UI; at least the office team is doing good work!

I think Office is looking great (like they actually put some work into it), and that Vista looks like it's going to look nicer, but won't be much different (in functional terms), than XP.

I'm not sure how well the context-sensitive menus in Office 2006 will work (they'll definitely help with Excel), but I'm anxious to try.

My biggest beef with the Vista UI is not how it looks. That can always be changed with themes. But what I haven't seen is the Aero that will "revolutionize the way we use our PC's" and I don't think that we are going to see that.

Vista doesn't look that amazing now, but they have some amazing artists :) So the final product will be stunning, imo.

Ok is there a reason why ppl in here are submitting multible bashes on MS's products, or just to have something to talk about? I mean really guys all this crap is just spamming.

I still have some confidence in Windows Vista that the product will actually surprise between beta 2 and RTM. Its just that the Windows Team is trickling it out bit by bit. And I can't blame them, Apple has become such a copy cat these days. The actually copied every idea shown at PDC and recently with their funky looking over-texted based Media Center iMac which has in a way for first time back fired on them, including the video iPod.

I think its the other way around, Cupertino, start your engines.
