ck2k01
I am gettin an AMD Athalon XP 2200+ processor. What do you guys reccomend as far as power supplys. I heard 350W was plenty, but I need some more opinions. Also, what would be the disadvantages of having less power?
hobsgrg
As long as u have enough power to power the CPU then theres no disadvantage of having less. The only situation where there would be an advantage to having more power is if ur PSU was only just powerfull enough to run ur CPU reliably it would mean u couldn't overclock. I've only got a 250watt PSU and its enough to run my 1700+ overclocked to 1900+. 300 Watt is probably enough, but more is always better especially if ur going to upgrade in the future
ck2k01
OK, THNAKS, I more question........... How can I tell if a power supply will fit into a case?
Sparticus
just look at form factors. if you get a case that says "ATX" then the power supply you get should also say "ATX" along with the motherboard saying the same thing.
