windows media player 11

I'm guessing that if people are using a leaked copy of Vista that they are not supposed to have, they won't go around posting it everywhere...

Yep! :)

It was also just covered here:

different than the one we're seeing today in the October CTP of Windows Vista.

:D

I really like the more slim look of it, and can only hope its memory usage also drops quite dramatically.

huge improvement over wmp10 imho, gonna make me use it as a music player over winamp? prolly not. still continue to use as a video player, yes  if anything, its looks almost more itunesish dont ya think?

its real, just follow the blades of grass going through it. there are some weird i guess "glass" effects that arent uniform to the window which is i guess what you're looking at

I think he was talking about for example that diagonal line at the end (right side) of the player controls. That one seem to be overlayed and too stylized (it's a perfectly straight bold line) to be a straw, and also too high contrasts when compared to the rest of the very blurred straws (this line has sharp edges). On the other hand, I do see glass effects making the background shine through somewhat. Maybe a textured glass window? Hmm...

Yes, it's released by a Microsoft guy working on the sidebar among other things (source: longhornblogs.com), so that should settle that. :)

It's even on his blog. ;)

I really like that transparency looks nice.

the background doesnt match up with what you see in the glass there... looks fake-ish to me.

YES it does..!

EDIT: btw, wtf is up wiht the HUGE shortcut icon? it looks nice transparent, but does it realy have to be that big?(the thing in the bottom left of the How to report a bug icon(The big white "?" in a blue curcle on the left side of the screen under recycle bin))

Looks really nice, I hope most 3rd party developers will adapt the same Aero look and feel to their applications so we can see some real gui consistency throughout Windows for once.
