zheng.93
Harsher mods and admins? No way. Maybe we do need a few more to trak the topics, but the level of strictness is already high.

Rich-E
I think all the mods do a great job, I don't see rioting on these boards, problems are dealt with soon enough. They've done well in the 5 years of Neowin's running, why change now?
Long
I don't see rioting on these boards 586828247 I've never seen or heard of rioting on any virtual communities. If one does start somewhere, please let me know.
Raa
I think neowin's mods do a great enough job already. If there's a problem, they deal with it. No mess, no fuss. Its how any board should be. Adding to the discussion here, I think the mods (that i've read comments from) have only been 100% professional, courteous and of high-standards at all times. ..... And no i'm not kissing butts here :p
TCA
no they are here to do a job and they do simply that. if i were a mod i'd be strict and fully enforce the rules to the max.... some may have ego's but this place does tend to get a bunch of smart alecs and spammers which make them frustrated and upset and they get tired of it after a certain point in time. Captain_Wang
I'd say no but there's a lot of immature little kids here at the moment ecspecially in the console section, so I voted yes but that's not an insult to mods, just I wish they could ban people for being annoying. y0sh
Are you crazy ? NO. What neowin needs is more FAIR mods, because some of them are NOT FAIR. And i'd like to see some older mods, because some of the mods are too young and can't handle the power trip. 586790245 Could not have said it better myself. There should be an age limit of 21/22/23+ to be a mod here. (Y)
cchasem
Meh.. I'm obviously a bit biased right now.. But i think the mods should be a bit more logical and thoughtful of their reasoning for giving out warnings.. as the one I got was really unfair... I know if I recieved that type of judgement in a court of law I would certainly have fought it.
Mr. Chronopoulos
I love the mods here. They carry out the rules without going overboard and without being skimpy. Nowhere else will you find a finer fleet. (Y)(Y)

(Y) 586829226 There are no mods on a 'power trip'. The only people who think so are the ones that have been warned. In my opinion, the only people on a power trip here are members who refuse to follow the rules or think they don't apply to them. You have no idea how many profanity and insult-laced PMs I have gotten after warning a member for an obvious rule infraction. ALL of the mods are fair, bar none. If they weren't they wouldn't be on staff. Teenagers anymore are so disrespectful to any authority. They think they are immune to punishment and let us know about it. They take no responsibility for their actions. Not all are like this, but a large percentage. It comes down to the parents. They don't discipline their children enough and values are not being taught in the home. Who knows why, but I imagine either they work too much, or don't have the backbone to discipline. A whole separate issue, but this disrespect started when spanking became frowned upon and teachers were no longer allowed to use physical punishment. I am not a fan of the inconsistency of enforcement and what rules mods choose enforce. You will get a topic locked or deleted if you mention war3z (esp. from peer-peer), but you can mention "torrents" and even one poster mentioned getting a game early at the "torrent store." There is absolutely no concern for DMCA violations, either. 586792283 With 50+ staffers, it is next to impossible to be 100% consistent. We aren't mindless clones of each other. Everyone has a different personality and enforces rules differently; some have more grace than others. No parent, company, or country has the same rules as another, and they certainly don't enforce those rules the same across the board. Each rule breakage is taken care of on an individual basis. There are many factors involved. Who was the member, are they new/old here, how many warnings, what were their previous offenses, who is the mod, what section did the infraction occur in, etc etc. There is no way all of us can adhere to consistency throughout the site. NO site on the net has such a consistency, so why expect that from us? Meh.. I'm obviously a bit biased right now.. But i think the mods should be a bit more logical and thoughtful of their reasoning for giving out warnings.. as the one I got was really unfair... I know if I recieved that type of judgement in a court of law I would certainly have fought it. 586829229 So you think telling another member that their 'mom is a waste of time' is ok? Not only was it way off topic, but insulting as well. My $
y0sh
The only people who think so are the ones that have been warned. Excuse me, Chad? I think your stereotype doesn't stand true to me. I've always accepted my warnings gracefully. I am on 60%. One of them, the mod (whom I respect the most) agreed I didn't need - He just needed to be fair towards all. The other two, I realized what I had done wrong and I took the consequences for my actions (words). On my last warning, I inquired as to why I received the warning for defending myself to an attacker. I was assured the opposition got his too - which is where the discussion ended and I accepted the warning. The previous moderator I mentioned, is older. The way he dealt with me was with mutual respect.. and look what impression he left of himself? I think he is by far one of the most respected moderators on this board. Everytime I've observed the younger moderators, I see them as far more rash and assuming. The younger ones are exactly that; Young & human. You can try to distance your colleagues from humanity all you want, but it does not change that fact. Some of the younger ones will instinctively be given a self-worth by joining a 'team' of superior/older people. It's natural, and I am certainly not blaming them for their humanity. That's just how it is. I'm not bitter about my warnings at all, so my view is pretty neutral. Believe it or not, I am always observing/analyzing the staff's behavior.. for myself.
