Vista 5231

Recommended Posts

i have a HP/Compaq nx9110 notebook with 384ram and 128mb ati mobility 9000igp. when I boot with vista 5231 cd it loads some files then it shows the boot screen and then when it is supposed to show the installion screen with the serial nunber i got black screen with nothing. i tried to boot with safe mode and it completes the first part with the serial number and disk drive selection the when it restarts to complete the setup i got the same black screen after the boot screen. i also tried to boot the second time with safe mode then it runs normally until the 1/4 of the progress bar then it shows some kind of error and restarts. has anyone else had the same problem? or are there any fixes?

You would have bought the CTP version? Are you serious? I have a feeling after installing it you'd want your money back.

But that point aside, this version is not for sale for a very good reason. It's not ready for regular users like yourself. It's meant for internal users, invited testers, vendors, and some community and developer crowds.

when it gets to the black screen, let it sit there a while. It could be in the process of detecting hardware or initialising hardware thats taking the time.

It doesn't matter if you have 100 copies of Win95 and 1000 of XP. If you are not on the Microsoft beta tester list, you should not have Vista beta.
