Overclocking a Celeron 300A with a PC100 Pentium II Mainboard

Recommended Posts

I tried to overclock my Celeron 300A by adjusting the bus speed in the bios from 66MHz to 100MHz.

It did not work. When I rebooted my computer would not boot up, the screen was black, I got no beep, etc. I then restored the default settings by holding down "End" so it would work again.

I heard that I may need to adjust something like a jumper maybe? on the actual motherboard. It is a PC100 Pentium II Mainboard and if someone can tell me how to do it, that would be great! I have no extra money lying around to upgrade.
