I think someone already mentioned that it will be out in September. Thats still quite awhile yet, so I'm glad the beta works perfect for me.

any1 who has installed WMP9 and who has some VBR mp3s encoded with Lame - does WMP9 show the correct time on these files? that's one of the most annoying things about the other versions.

I think it has been established that you cannot minimise to the taskbar with SP1.

Seems like it works fine with 1050 however (worked fine for me)

1078 is the one that seems to be the problem

I wasn't able to uninstall WMP9, or reinstall WMP 8 or 7

the only solution I came up with was reinstall the whole system: It took me some time to reinstall everything:(

What about registry keys, too? Maybe those should be deleted too? Heh don't take my advice cuz im not sure... but maybe the 8 installer sees them and wont continue?

What happens when u tried to install WMP 8, anyway?

Trust me, I did everything possible....but nothing works properly on the system that has WMP9 installed on it.

i.e WMP 8 installs normally until the last point when it says that there was a major errror

and after restart WMP8 is not working (o pens with an error: something like Huge External (internal - forgot which one) error)

If you just delete the Windows Media Player Directory then Windows XP will replace the version 8 files

It didn't work for me

It asked to provide CD so that it can replace files, but WMP 8 still wasn't able to open

Sounds fun. I think the text is nifty, but im sure it will get old...

And a little off topic: How is XP SP1? Is it like at all unstable? What does in consist of and do you recommend I get the beta builds or wait for the final release?
