Chris Lee Posted October 17, 2005 Share Posted October 17, 2005 I've received this "Failed to initialize infrared remote hardware" message everytime I boot up my XP now. I don't know what the matter it is with the remote not working on the WinTV software or the free opensource Media Portal. I uninstalled the TV tuner card in Windows device managers several times and reinstalled it, and these are the newest drivers from the internet that's loaded up to the driver CD. I reboot a lot of times and I still get that message when I start up the IR program for the infrared remote. How do I fix this? Surely it couldn't be a malfunction?
