I was just wondering how many in Neowin actually considered themselves to have a social life. This can be defined any way you like. This can be contact or non-contact, the amount go outside. Any way you like.

yes, but as of late (past three weeks) no. work and my backyard have tied up a lot of my time as of late. even though i havent been going out, except for erands, work, and food, i would say my house always has its daily visitors. :p

Well if you go from a quiet house that only had your parents in it half the day to a dorm with 5 roommates, you begin to talk some. It sorta forced me to be a tad more sociable, although I rely on my computer each day to contact my friends back home, etc. And yeah I have a girlfriend back home which I see on weekends so I'm forced to be sociable near her and her friends, but I'm not complaining! If this topic came up about 1 year ago I'd probably answer "I'm a lonely RPG playing tech-geek."

Sorry to ask, but whats TAFE? Is it some sort of youth club or something?

Forgot to mention. Im more sociable at weekends than during the week. I work from 8am to 6pm, then when i get home, i'd rather just have my dinner, then chillout my own way at home. At weekends, im usually out with friends, or with the missus.

I work from 08:00 - 17:30 5 day a week - and live an hour's drive from work. That means that I get home at 18:30. I also get up at 06:00, so I am often quite tired.

However, the day I say no to going out with my mates, be it for a drink, for a kick about, or whatever - that's the day you can take me into a field and shoot me!

Yes! This weekend, for example.. tonight i'm off out to the cinema with my girlie.. Saturday i'm up early to drive across to Ipswich to meet some good friends from a car forum I moderate on, one of which who's driven over from the Isle of Man. Then after that driving down to London to meet up with about 30 other guys for some high speed go karting (50MPH twin engined karts!) then driving back up from there to home and that evening off to a friends house for a lads night in of pizza, imported beers and the recently released Pro Evo Soccer 5. Then Sunday.. chill out and visit my girlie in the afternoon!

So er.. yes.. I have a social life. Getting outside really does help.. get out, join clubs, take up sports.. do whatever you can to give yourselves a break from the screens.

digitalsoft: Nice excuse you got there. 9 - 4:30 hardly screws up your day!

Simply pathetic the excuses that some make for not going out...
