how much are you willing to spend? If you want to go with Fido, they are giving away the 3390 for free (valued at $200) if you sign up for 3 months.. its a decent phone..

Mods, please move to PDA, Tablet & Mobile Devices :)

Moved from Gen. Discussion forum to PDA, Tablet & Mobile Devices forum.

If you ask me which is my favorite, I'd say Ericsson T68i, but I'm buying Nokia 6510 today. If you can afford T68i, go for it, you won't regret.

Yeah, I'm in the states and once AT&T moves over to Sim Cards and the proces go down a bit I will get the T68i but for now i have the T60 but that Nokia 3390 or 3360 is very nice.

I'm in Toronto, and i just bought a Motorola v.60 - it's available from Bell Mobility, Telus, and Rogers AT&T Wireless. It's a pretty pricey phone, but it's damn nice.

The 8000 series by Nokia is pretty good.. At present, I own a 8250.

Small, compact, durable (I dropped mine on the floor a couple of times already, still running fine )... and best of all, unified user interface ( once you learn how to use a Nokia, all other Nokias should be no problem )...

I'm with you. I just bought a T60 (and I really like it). I checked out the T68i, but since they have just launched that coverage here, it's a not a good deal. Perhaps next year when they get more coverage.

The wife went with a Nextel phone. the i1000 Plus. Cool phone, but a bit of pain to program (compared to a Nokia or Ericsson).

I agree with configure about the Sony-Ericsson T68i. My dad bought it and it realy is amazing. I dislike all the Motorla's 'cause they're anything but user-friendly. I'd go with a Nokia. The Nokia 6610, 8310 or 3510. Depends on your style and need...

Heh, just little more than a day a go I was totally a newbie at this cell phone thing, but after a day of research and reading up stuff, I can say I am pretty much pro at this thing already. :D

btw, I am glad that I got T68i now, seeing how much praise it's getting ;)

okie, back to the subject. There's much more than the surface here. It depends on what and how you are going to use the phone too. Stand by time, talk time, etc. Obviously the time has to do with what type of battery it uses, there are currently 4 types of cell phone batteries:

rank from crappiest to best...

1. NiCD, crappiest out of the 4, rarely see it nowadays.

2. NiMH, introduced in early 1990's, better than NiCD, enviromental friendly, suffer much less "memory effect" than NiCD. But again, slowly being edged out of market.

3. Li-ION, up to 40% performance to NiMH, slim and light weight.

4. Li-Po, newest type of the 4. The best :) for now. In terms of performance, up to twice the stand bye and talk time compare to Li-ION. also slim and light weight. price is the only issue. (T68i uses this)

there's also the physical look of the cell, weight, dimensions, ringtones/vibration, numbers it can hold in phone, sms, and all them new internet wap thingies, and bluetooth support, etc (I really did my homework, lol)

oh yea, the battery thing, the unit for power of battery is

mHA. so if the battery is 1000 mAH and let's assume the cell uses 1000 mA to operate/talk, then it'll only last 1 hour.

[edit 1]

removed some technical stuff that might've been confusing, corrected some spelling and added this:

hopefully I didn't confuse you more, but helped. if you can be more detailed to what you are looking for (price range, feature), then I can give you suggestions to which cell to get. (I have almost every cell's info)
