MP3 Player Suggestions?

Question

Does a stripped-down iTunes-like MP3 player exist for Windows? I've been using Winamp since about version 1.6, but for the past couple of months I've wanted to find something closer to iTunes in terms of design and functionality. Basically, here's what I'd like to see in my perfect player:

- It should be modular, and -by default- do nothing beyond play audio (and perhaps include a few core modules, like an equalizer). Winamp isn't perfect in this area, but it performs pretty well. I'm more concerned with the way the app is designed then the amount of memory it uses. In other words, Winamp doesn't feel bloated, yet it provides access to a wealth of features if you choose to use them. The last time I used Sonique, the interface (NOT the skin I was using) seemed quirkly and the application just felt bloated. It may have improved since then, but I haven't checked.

- The number one feature I want from iTunes is the search facility that's always displayed. I should be able to type in a string and as I type, a list of files matching the specified string should be returned as a new playlist. The search facility should scale well, which will likely involve caching ID3 tags.

- Multiple play lists. Yes, Winamp 3 supports multiple playlists, but the last time I checked, the interface was quirky. Use iTunes and you'll quickly notice the difference.

- That's it! I don't want an all-in-one package. My player shouldn't burn or rip CDs, offer advanced ID3 editing (basic support should be present, of course..) or do my dishes for me. Skins are irrelevant. If someone ripped off the iTunes design, great.. but that's irrelavent. I'd rather have something ugly that works well than something that's pretty, skinnable, and is just another Winamp clone.

Is there anything that does anything remotely like this? And if not, are there any projects in the works to write an iTunes styled player for Windows? There are at least 2 such projects for Linux, so I'd be surprised if no one's considered it for Windows.
