hehe, why wouldn't they? It's an socket-A mobo and it's a Socket-A chip so yeah... sounds just about right.

Q: Is the AMD Athlon? XP processor 2200+ for desktop PCs based on the "Thoroughbred" core?

A : Yes. The AMD Athlon XP processor 2200+ is based on AMD's state-of-the-art 0.13 micron technology, the processor core previously code named "Thoroughbred."

the ram gets clocked down to match that speed... thats all.. he might have done this for future upgrade.. so that you can get faster ram right now.. and then get a mobo that matchs that later :)

not really.. i'm using it at DDR400 :) simply OC the FSB and drop the muliplier:

200Mhz X 2 = 400mhz DDR

200Mhz X 8 = 1600Mhz (AMD XP 1800+ OCed)

I only bought the memory like this so when the KT400s come out i'll be ready. But i don't keep my system like this for long since it's kinda unstable at this high FSB. The onboard components restrict me but the BIOS can go up to 250Mhz FSB (theoretically)
