wintv-go pci in XP drivers...

Recommended Posts

any1 able to find hauppauge wintv drivers on the windows update catalog? I looked under video drivers and they aren't listed as a manufacturer. I can't get my WinTV-GO PCI card to work in XP. When using Hauppauge's drivers my entire PC locks up when I start the WinTV2000 program. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi are you using the WinTV drivers that came with the board?

I had this very problem with my WinTV PVR pci board.

I updated to the latest ones from the hauppage site.

They work fine for me

The drivers are here

Read this before installing.

Also this page will help if you have problems installing

I had to run the HWclear app to get WinTV working properly.

the hauppauge driver and wintv program installations are a huge pain, at least for me.. usually take me 2-3 tries before i remember the exact process :s

by the way, on a similar topic.

i want to buy a new card, one that will do nice recordings so i can tape tv shows and burn to cd. any suggestions ? is that pvr board pretty good ?

okay k22

The PVR is a good card. I record regularly using it.

I think it may have been dis-continued now, but don't quote me on this. I just heard a rumour.

If you want more info on it let me know..

i got it semi-working - had to go to start menu->programs->hauppauge win tv->primary and change the setting to either force primary or dib draw. If it is set to allow overlay it locks my system up and if it's set to allow vmr i get an error, the program starts and there's no picture. This would be fine & dandy but when I use primary or dib mode the image is kind of jumpy and the program locks up after about 10 minutes of use. I went into the properties of my lowly graphics card and found a setting to enable overlay but the program seems to still lock my system up when it is set to vmr or overlay.

i'd contact hauppauge. they have pretty good support. they'll even call you and help you through trying to get it to work.

i just want a card that will capture decent vcd's.
