jago6498
I know a good amount of people either have this board or an AMD761 chipset board. My question is regarding the RAM settings in the BIOS. What are the BEST settings for the RAM? I wanna get as much juice out of them as I can.:D
appletalking
If you have the latest BIOS then there should be a "fast" option or similar that will tweak out your RAM settings. I think the other choice is "normal." You can also play around with all the cycle settings down at the bottom, but the "fast" setting will deal with those automatically. I haven't been able to get that much out of my RAM here (512MB PC2100 Crucial - CAS 2.5), but I think it may be because I'm only giving them 2.5v of juice. You can up the voltage on by adjusting a jumper on the board itself, that may help you get stability at tighter timings. I haven't done it myself because this is my production box and I don't really want to fry anything, but you're welcome to have a go at it! ;) Good luck! jago6498
Thanx but if it was that simple wouldn't have put up this post to begin with. Just because it says "Fast" doesn't mean that it is the fastest settings. There are certain values that need to be tweak in the BIOS to squeeze just a little more juice out of it. A voltage change isn't needed either because I used to have it set at the highest property but a BIOS upgrade (I'm using 5/29/2002) reset everything.
