JustGeorge
I have rarely bought any videogame magazines since I got jacked into the net. By the time you get the mag, the info is outdated.
Kr0z
I read most of my news on the internet but still subscribe to a computer magazine as well.

CruJones
I think no. I think they compliment each other well. The internet for access and the magazine/newspaper for portability. But, once we get complete portability then we might find it to replace.
Master Shake
The mainstream media has been doing a really horrible job for some time now. A lot of people read blogs or internet based news now.
y0sh
I don't think it is. I read my news on the computer mostly, but in the mornings, I like to read the newspaper. It forces you to read everything. With the internet, people tend to choose to only read news that interests them.

MLIFE
I getmost of my reading which used to come from magazines online. Such as news about new Albums, Concerts, Snowboarding/Skiing news, PC related new (slashdot). I used to subscribe to some mags at zinio. I still pick up the Times daily for the law reports, and from time to time I will pick up a magazine relating to Linux, Gadgets, Sports and Music. But it for sure has limited my need to buy magazines.
Buttus
until i can leave my computer in the bathroom to read articles on, i'll still buy/subscribe to magazines.... but the web is way better as far as information.....

SamNeeds
Simply put...no. Don't get me wrong, the internet is a wide, extensive and up to date source of information BUT people still prefer actually hold a paper or magazine as opposed to reading off a screen. lostspyder
No its not killing the newspaper Yes newspapers sales are going down why? because our generation (20-30s) dont read newspapers like our parents did. Why? because we have tons of other forums of mass media at our disposal and our generation isnt as intrested in the happenings of the world as previous generations. Viserov
Depends. People who actively want to know what's going on in the news at that moment in time probably would prefer to get it from the Interweb or TV. Those who are more passive, and only care to learn the news once a day probably like the newspaper option. Newspaper/magazines are more convenient. You can read them in bed, on the john, in the car, etc. I like the Internet, but I also love holding and reading a magazine.
R-Flex
While I prefer to read the newspaper and magazines (sometimes I read too much news), I think that the newest generation will focus on the Internet. So yes, the Internet will kill off the newspaper and magazine (not so bad for the death of celebrity and fashion magazines). As a future journalist, I find this pretty troubling, especially with the dominance of blogs, but it's what I do best.
accesser
Yes ? I don?t read print much but at the same time the news website I use are from the same company that print papers anyway.
Danyul
Will not kill the newspaper, in the long run i think the internet will take over to be the main source of news. I use the internet now for my news, since websites like neowin offer more then 1 point of view i.e with news articles people are able to post there view on the article, allowing people to comment with there own opinion, so i'm able to take that in and form my own opinion off everyone else. With a newspaper its usually just the newspapers opinion. Hope it made sense, i'm tired and just about to go to bed.

+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted November 16, 2005 Subscriber² Share Posted November 16, 2005 OK, I worked for a newspaper who put their content online, so I have a valid view here: NO! The internet presence adds to the newspaper, but the web was never put above the paper-based media. By it's nature, all printed news is old, so this is where the web comes in. But we found no significant decrease in sales from our website (Leicester Mercury newspaper / ThisIsLeicestershrie website)
hulibecker
I dont bother buying papers anymore, like others get most of my news from online or tv. Do still buy magazines though! *reading material whilst takin a dump*
