crzykle
What at all has happened to the browser Neoplanet.. I remember the days when only 3 browsers were present IE, Netscape and ..... Neoplanet This was based on IE and was pretty small and had lots of skins :D ! Now, tho' everybody seems to have forgotten it altogether! A visit to the neoplanet site says that it is developing a new release Surprisingly, The logo for the browser was a 'N', which curiously is very similar to the 'N' used as the Neowin logo !  Any comments? insanekiwi
yea i used neoplanet like what...back in 1998? :laugh. it was the first "alternative" browser i tried. it is still around but i guess people just are not interested in it anymore since newer browsers like opera, firefox, maxthion etc have appeared. crzykle
yep U hit the nail in the head.. but then go to the neoplanet website.. See they've put up a note that ' No downloads now possible as they are developing a new release' and you go to the 'downloads' section and u can actually download a release! Japlabot
I remember it. I think I tried to download it again a few months ago but couldn't, when I was curious. Thinking back, I don't know why I would of used that Bloatware of a browser. It also had official skins for Austin Powers and other bigname things. gigapixels Veteran Posted November 3, 2005 Veteran Share Posted November 3, 2005 Wow, I remember that browser. That was also my first "alternative" to IE that started it all. I loved that proggie. I went crazy with all the skins... I wonder if they're really developing a new version or just have left that up there for years now. It would be interesting to see if they do make something new... Perhaps based off of the Gecko engine instead?

Yvo
It wasn't really an alternative browser as it used IE or Gecko as a rendering engine. The browser's back then were IE, Netscape and Opera.

classycat
I still have a Neoplanet browser in my 2 computers (1 is a laptop). What I'd like to know is: 1. Are there any more active forums anywhere about the Neoplanet browser, and 2. Does anyone have the capability of making a copy of a Neoplanet browser cd - or does anyone have one they wouldn't mind sending to me? I have misplaced mine, and I think the one I have in my desktop, may need to be reinstalled. you can email me at classycat@dcemail.com thanks
