boombip
Just wondering but do any of you convert your music files to AAC with iTunes? I might restore my iPod nano and then convert all my music in my library to AAC and then update my iPod. Anybody else do this?

~WinGz~
well i did it, and i find it takes much more room on my harddrive for it, but i seem to use my itunes more then windows media player then i use to becuase of my ipod, just depends on how much hd space you have, and what kind of use your going to put your music through. boombip
Never ever transcode! 586764654[/snapback] I don't see any problem with making a mp3 a aac. I had a mp3 encoded at 320kbs and I converted it to aac in iTunes and the quality sounds the same.
Echilon
I've never seen the need. Most of the music I download is in MP3 format, which is only slightly bigger than AAC of the same bitrate.
Matt T
If I ever download a really high quality mp3 (320kbps) I convert them to AAC at 192kbps, because it's very high quality at a slightly smaller file size - which helps because I have a small hard drive. I also import my CD's in AAC at 192kbps for the same reasons.
Orange Battery
I dont like AAC, people who like it must have bad hearing at some ranges because it crackles slightly in places - or maybe thats just iTunes downloads, Ive downloaded 20 songs from iTunes and wont download anymore because its disappointing each time. Im sticking to mp3 on my ipod because I might change to another player one day if someone offers better quality downloads and don't want to have to re-encode all my music. Ashl
Don't have an ipod but like using iTunes and MP3 keep my options over I get either an iPod or any other type of player. Without having to convert or rip again.
Galley
I tried Creative's "SuperRip" with my new X-Fi card. I used 192Kbps to be able to compare it to my current 192Kbps AAC files. The resulting WMA files sounded like ASS. :x
